the day of fathers... or something like that

i'm not going to lie.
i hate most holidays
especially those that are kind of ridiculous.
every day should be fathers day, mothers day, grandparents day, veterans day, memorial day, thanksgiving, christmas... you get the point.
why do we need that ONE special day where we acknowledge how we appreciate our significant other or whatever. We should be appreciating them like that all the time.
not only does it make us seem like an ungrateful nation, but it's completely commercialized.
Don't get me wrong, i participate in the holidays as listed above, but i do it begrudgingly and i do it because i feel obligated to do so. So most of the time, when i say happy fathers day... etc... i don't mean it because i feel like i HAVE to say it.

If you know me at all, or have any idea or inkling of who i am, you know that when i ask how you are, when i tell you that i love you, when i have a conversation with you and seem whole heartedly interested i'm telling you... happy mothers day, fathers day, grandparents day, veterans day, memorials day.. yadda yadda yadda.

but i am grateful for the father figures in my life, without them i wouldn't be half the person i am today, i just don't think they need this ONE day to justify, clarify my appreciation for them. They should know this everyday.

on facebook today.
i reffered to fathers day as "baby daddy day" :)
i love my baby daddy, and i appreciate the sacrifice (work, sleep etc) he makes for our growing little family.
he's the best. :)
