my saturday was NOT a fun day.it was
a boring day.
a test of patience day.
a crying day.
our mornings start off with a shriek that fills the air at 6:30 a.m.
not how i like to get up in the morning.
i go in a scold my shrieking monster and say "that's not how we get attention"
monster and i crawl back into bed, where we fight over what position is most comfortable for monster and least comfortable for pregnant self. we finally find a position comfortable for the both of us and fall asleep for another hour.
finally crawl out of bed, scream, make a fuss and monster makes me hold her while i'm going to the bathroom. fun visual right?
i put my robe on and we traipse downstairs, where i make monster peaches n cream oatmeal and i drink sprite. (delicious breakfast, no?)
husband is already downstairs. in his undies. on the internet.
i was wondering where he went because when i woke up i was alone (with except of monster attached to my body). I knew he wouldn't have left without kissing my goodbye (he's amazing like that:) )
my stomach and and back hurt from the previous night (where i laid in the living room fighting off menstrual like cramps). i complain to a couple of friends about it . call my dr's office (no answer), call the hospital (they answer and tell me to come in).
husband leaves to go to drill, i call a friend to see if she can watch monster (and i feel bad doing so bc she has a 5 week old baby), drive by the armory, toss husbands dog-tags at him and venture my way off to L&D.
i pee in a cup, put on a gown, sit on a bed and have external monitors attached to my belly. good thing i brought the sat/sun edition of the paper (which is really just a waste of newspaper), and dear john (not one of mr. sparks best books ... probably worst).
I sat there for 3 hours, listening to baby's 'whomp-whomp' of a heart beat, nurse asks me all those fun questions (i actually do think they're fun, but then again i like questionnaires), and tells me to sit tight.
my butt goes numb in the mean time, nurse comes back in and asks me if i'm feeling any of those (being contractions), i replied, i'm feeling some of them, and she gives me a clicker, which i only push 3 times. Darn those convincing/annoying/worry-some Braxton hicks.
the nurse called the doctor three times.. THREE TIMES and he never showed up. He called nurse and had her check me to see if i was dialated (no worry, i'm closed), if i'm not dialated, i'm a free woman.
i like that the nurse was insistent and called the doctor, but i'm mad that the doctor is dumb and didn't even bother to come see me.
it's my fault for being pregnant in rexburg, but seriously, this was an emergency.
last week i called, and my doctor didn't even know who he was taking too, and even told me so. "i've got a lot of patients. I don't know who you are."
i leave L &D, pick up monster and head to sonic (bc i'm dang hungry and the only thing that was going to make me feel better was a beloved lemon-berry slush)
monster has had an attitude for the last 2 weeks and it's getting old. screaming, pinching, biting, fighting, being an all around jerkface.
she was fighting me as we were making our way into the house, trying to throw her strawberry slush on our carpeted floors.
i'm struggling; holding onto her, holding my drink, two bags, and our lunch all the while trying to catch a potential red stain on our carpet.
As all of this was happening, i put down my drinks, toss my bags and catch my monster falling onto her face by the seat of her pants.. literally, grabbed her butt/diaper making sure that she lightly smacked her face on the carpeted floor.
she cries and cries and cries and i get annoyed but try to soothe her (after checking that no damage had been done to her pearly whites) by bribing her with food.
eventually she takes the food, cuddles with me and falls asleep.
i sit down. finish my book (what a waste of time. i'm so bummed it was bad). put on a movie and get sleepy.
husband comes home. asks me how i am, tells me he loves me, eats candy. gets on the computer and eventually craps out on the love sac. to this moment, he's got his arms crossed, and is snoring... snoring his ever annoying snore (it just keeps getting louder)
and here i am, blogging about my awful day.
reading it, it sounds humorous.
and it was, but it was most definitely one of the most annoying days ever.
tomorrow i have all day with my love and monster.
i want to make it count because husband has to leave for AT on monday.
and i will become a single mother for 10 days (which is nice considering last summer he was gone for a month)

I'm so glad things have worked out okay and I'm really sorry I wasn't here to help. I felt so bad and wondered about you all weekend! I'm back now so let me know if I can do anything for you!
I can commiserate with you dear sis-in-law. His big brother snored up a storm as well. Just hope he doesn't grind his teeth like Arthur did.
